Our kibble products have been coated with a highly palatable freeze-dried coating which makes it extra irresistible to cats & dogs. To manufacture kibble, a certain amount of carbohydrates is required for the biscuits to form, through a manufacturing process called extrusion. We have formulated our Meat Mates Freeze-Dried Kibble to have a protein content higher than our competitors. Our Meat Mates Freeze-Dried Dinner product is higher in meat due to the way it is manufactured.
Our Meat Mates Freeze-Dried Kibble is coated with Beef Liver, which has been dried and ground into a powder. Cats both go mad for the taste of liver, plus it adds even more protein into the food.
To manufacture kibble, a certain amount of carbohydrates is required for the biscuits to form, through a manufacturing process called extrusion. This is the case with all kibbles that you can purchase. Legumes are high protein vegetables, which provide the best of both worlds with the necessary carbohydrate and protein. Our diets have Taurine added to meet the AAFCO Nutrient Profile for cats. DCM has been linked to low Taurine levels; however, all our diets have sufficient Taurine.
Since our foods are grain free, the risk of aflatoxins in the product is low. We do however test for aflatoxins as part of our routine testing and can confirm they are not detected in our products.
Yes. The fish is responsibly farmed, and the chicken is cage free. The beef, lamb and venison are grass-fed and free range.
We suggest mixing water to the freeze dried food when feeding for added hydration but it is completely up to you and your pet’s personal preference. Fresh water should be available for your pet at all times.
All Meat Mates Freeze-Dried product packages contain a non-edible oxygen absorber. We include them in our product packaging to help reduce the oxygen level to ensure that our shelf-stable food is at optimum freshness when opened.
These small, silver sealed packets, marked “Do Not Eat”, contain the following ingredients;
Iron - 60-85%
Magnesium Chloride - less than 1%
Carbon - less than 1%
Silica Dioxide - 15-40%
Oxygen absorber packets start to work and absorb oxygen as soon as they are packed into the bag of food. Once the bag is opened and the absorber packet is exposed to oxygen, it loses its effect and can be discarded.
We recommend storing our product out of temptations way, in a cool, dry space like a cupboard. Once opened, we recommend removing and disposing of the oxygen absorber to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion.
In the case of accidental ingestion and as a precaution, please contact animal poison control or your veterinarian, especially if your pet is under 15 lbs / 6.5 kg.
We’re pleased to confirm that all of our Meat Mates are BPA-free.
